7950GT or X1950XT?

A 7950GT 256 mb for $199 and its $159 after rebate or A X1950XT 256 mb for $179 which will get better performance in todays games? and future like Crysis?Because the developer said a 7800GTX runs a reasonably high settings and the same goes for a X1900XT.Also will a AMD 3200+ bottleneck any of these cards (lol).7950GT or X1950XT?
Id go for the 7950GT but if im not mistaken the X1950XT is the better one.7950GT or X1950XT?
Hi you probably allready know this but if you are wanting to play games like oblivion maxed out then id advise you to get the 8800GTs or GTX if you have vista also id say get a core 2 duo proccesor if you dont allready have 1. this is what im trying to do atm but im trying to see if somone knows if my motherboard is compatible with core 2 duo extreme.
O and i just saw that you will want to play games like crysis then i read in PCgamer that you will need core 2 duo definetly and they advised the GTX

Crysis is being heavily optimised so you should at least get medium settings. As for your CPU maybe you should consider a upgrade, you can get a cheap X2 for $70 now. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103733

Go read up on it. Its really not that hard to max out Crysis. Its just another computer game people nothing we haven't seen before.
x1950xt is the better card.

Large grains of salt there. :)

I wouldn't be too surprised if Crysis ended up running better on ATi hardware, I can say that much for sure. We'll see when it's actually out, though. If it looks as good as we think it will, it probably won't run well on the older G70 or whatever cards.

It was running @ 1280x1024 on high settings with a 7800gtx 256mb. When they just showed off the game about 3 weeks ago. It was running around 40fps @ 19x12 on a QX6700, 2x1gb and 8800gtx. You can tell its 19x12, because they were using a BenQ monitor that runs at that res only. It had hicups for explosions though, cause of optmizing.

Keep in mind the system requirements are x800 series from ATI and 6800 series from nVidia. Also the fact that Crytek is making the game. FarCry I could play on a GeForce 2 MX. I think people are getting ahead of themselves thinking this game will destroy PCs, when that is what Unreal Tournament 3 will do and Huxley. Or for that matter, any Unreal 3 engine based game generally kicks the PCs ass. SSJBEn runs R6V @ 40fps @ 19x12 with the following

Intel QX6800 @ 3.6
2x2gb Crucial DDR2-800
2x768mb 8800gtx Yes its Ubisoft, but its also the Unreal 3 engine, which is going to be a new benchmark in games and for benchies. Those Crysis demos were run in Dx9 keep in mind. I dont know what Dx10 will do, although Call of Juarez can be maxed out @ 19x12 @ 30fps with a single 8800gtx and a QX6700 @ 2.66Ghz and 4x1gb. I know this, cause Alpha Omega does that. So Dx10 looks promising when its a full game and not patched (i.e. CoH). Call of Juarez, looks like its not fully optimized either yet. It reminds me of the Oblivion engine juiced up :D. Not the same engine though ofcourse.
x1950xt is the better card.
why not go with the x1950 pro 256, also are you pci or agp?

x1950xt is the better card.
why not go with the x1950 pro 256, also are you pci or agp?
Because the X1950pro isn't a match for the X1950XT.

Not the same engine though ofcourse.
I noticed that you had quad-core CPU's. From what I heard, dual-core CPU's (as in Intel) would work better with games today. In DX10 games, would quad-core CPU's (such as the QX6600, which would go for $266 next month :D ) work better, such as Crysis or Unreal Tournament 3?
It really has to do with how the developer implements the CPU into the game. How the phsyics setup is, how the AI is and what the whole game needs. Crysis will use dual and quad cores. For people to say that they dont want a Q6600 cause quad core isnt needed right now, are insane. Cause unless theyre on a tight budget and need a sub $150 CPU, they should be buying this CPU. The next step up is the QX6700 and thats2-3 times the price when the price cuts come. Yes you could have a better clocked dualcore, but a nicely clocked quad core will benefit more in the long run if you are futureproofing. Its not just about games too, but you might edit movies, burn tons of stuff and multi-task like non other. Kepp in mind, a dual core will outperform a quad right now or be on par, but in the long run, that quad will be doing better. Yes better quads will come out, but you have to be crazy not to grab a Q6600 for $270 and instead grab a E6700 for $200.
Yeah, I agree with you (though it might not seem on my previous post). Just trying to understand some stuff :) . I hear that a lot of people are going to over clock their QX6600 like crazy when it comes to a lower price, its gonna be a good buy.

But $70 is a lot of money when you are on a budget, like I am. I'm just going to stick with duel core, and when I'm ready to upgrade, better quads will be out.

Yea maybe about the Core 2 part but a higher end DX9 card will play the game just fine. PCgamer, well lets just say I have never trusted them. DX9 card will play the game fine. If you have read what the developers have said then yea.
