PSU Up-Grade, Will it fit and other Q's

My friend has a 300w psu with 19a on the +12v rail and a 7600GS he really needs a upgrade to a higher end card and the Corsair 520w is in the price range. Its a HP Pavillion A1700n so if anyone could see if the Corsair 520w WILL fit WITH NO PROBS then I will get him a X1950PRO for his b-day while my friend gets him the psu so can anyone confirm that it will fit or is he limited to M-ATX Psu's? I coulda sworn someone found it on a site its a Bestec brand the model number is ATX-300-12Z. And you dont need drivers or anything just put it in and its ready right?PSU Up-Grade, Will it fit and other Q's

I found it. http://www.power-on.com/atx12vhp300bt.html

Its a ATX12v!! Thats the same as my ThermalTake 750w!! So that means any PSU will work thats 12v or ATX right?
It does appear to be so - and it's a good thing too.To be honest though, I wouldn't say he's in desperate need of an upgrade from a 7600GS. It's not that terrible of a card.

He is getting a new moniter and yea I loved it too(was my old PC gave it to him) but he plays at 1024x768 atm and hes getting a bigger one (prolly 1200x1000 he doesnt know yet) and the 7600GS will prolly not be enough to play crysis and other newer games as he is getting into PC gaming more. His bday is kinda far so no rush but me and my friends want to pitch in 200-250 in upgrades. We were thinking a 60$ psu ( FSP 450w ) or a 120$ Corsair 520w with maybe a X1950PRO or 7900GS. Thanks tho.
The Micro ATX refers to the form factor, not the actual PSU. I've always been under the impression they were all interchangable. Maybe I'm wrong, but getting your mate a new PSU thats only 300W is like putting a 4 cylinder engine in a Rolls Royce.
Watch out for the molexs as well. That PSU you linked this to only has 4 peripheral connectors. A 500W PSU is where its at. They're just as cheap if you look around.
You should be able to find the HX520w for less than $120 - closer to $100 with a mail-in-rebate. Even so, depending on the rest of his rig, that money might be better spend elsewhere. The HX520w is a great power supply, but for upgrading an older rig, it's likely going to be overkill, if he's planning on building a new machine within the next year or two. Something with less power might be a better way to go, in his case. Perhaps the Enermax Liberty ELT400w? Graphics card I wouldn't plan out too heavily just yet either. If his birthday is far enough away, he might be able to score an 8800GTS for a very reasonable price, or even a newer card that might come out and take the $150-$200 price point by storm.

Its my old one AMD X2 4200+ 2gb DDR2 7600GS but yea me and my friends are pooling money for his bday cause we dont have anything else to spend on (were all nerds no gfs -_-) so we MIGHT be able to get 300+ but the X1950 is all he needs really. Plus im saving for Phenom, new mobo and HD3000's as well.
There are some cases that only support Micro-ATX form-factor power supplies. They're fairly rare though, and I do know that HP was big on using them in some of their computers for a while. Their connectors are no different from standard ATX power supplies, its just their size that differs.

The PSU will fry in no time flat if its used alot for gaming under SLi and 2 gfx cards :D
