Safe Video Card Temps?

I was just wondering what the Consensus is on safe GPU temps.Recently my Passively cooled Gigabyte Geforce 8600GT has been reaching temps of nearly 90C on Oblivion so i decided to add another fan to the exhaust (120mm) and now it idles on 48C instead of 53-55C and under load it reaches the high 60's low 70's instead of nearly 90C.I'd also like to ask when should i prepare the cards casket (when will it die out on me) with the temps i am experiencing now. Thanks you!Safe Video Card Temps?
Safe margins are 40-60癈 in general, the max. temp is 125癈, but you will see trouble far sooner then when your card would reach this extreme high temp or it would fail/BSOD/generate artifacts as soon as it gets too warm.

The lower you can keep the temp, the longer it will last. It'll propably stay alive long enough until it's obsolete.

You can get better temps if you also work on the general airflow in your case, it'll add extra cold air to the fan that is pushing air on your heatsink now.
