Well okay heres the deal, I see this computer at Bestbuy right? It's a Gateway XPS and it has CrossFire X1950 512mbs. But I'm confused, which is better? Two X1950 512mbs or one 8800GTS 640mb. Bestbuy Computer help!
Prebuilds for gaming? Nope (unless you spend over $5000).What's your budget?Bestbuy Computer help!
CRAP not a XPS I mean FX.
Well I have about 1800 to spend but, I am a HUGE noob when it comes to building computers. And I am worried about the warranties.
You can still order parts off of newegg and ask them to build it for you (they'll even test it too).If you want, I'll help you get a list of parts.
Seeing as how i doubt you'll need Crossfire, i'd go for one 8800GTS to not blow up my computer
Cool, I'm going to keep looking around for parts and what not.
Do you think you could put one together with a 8800 640mb?
The 8800 GTX is for a hardcore gamer. If not, then the 320mb version of the GTS is great.
Wow I did some research on the bestbuy computer. Damn is it way overpriced.

Yeah my bro keeps telling me to wait til July 22nd and try to build it. By the way, NICE setup! Very helpful and I'll make sure others know your a good computer expert.
Oh yeah! I can take the monitor off since I already have a 21 inch.
Gateway XPS
gateway bought dell?
Okay the total comes to 1668 with the monitor right? If I take the monitor off it comes to 1378, and minus about 30 dollars going with a 8800, and minues about 200 for the Q6600 with the price drop. the total comes too about 1148. But the prices are estimate so with this selection I'm looking around spending 900-1500 the most
Just one more quick question, is two X1950 512mbs the equivelant of a 8800 320 or 640mb? Or if I am wrong what is two 1950s the equivelant of?

Do not change the case, but do change the 2900XT to an 8800GTS for a better value. For about the same price you can get the 640MB version of the 8800GTS, which will be better for higher resolutions. And for the monitor, I suggest spending a little bit of money and buying this.
Get the HD2900XT the new drivers make it better than the 8800GTS's and WAIT for NATIVE quads by AMD in november.
