Looks like a hella good PC to me. Seems like you have every part .. I don't immediately know of anything you missed. You won't absolutely NEED a sound card as the mobo comes with built-in sound but it wouldn't hurt, either. Just get it whenever your budget allows. As for 4GB of RAM .. why go for 4 gigs right now? 2 GB is more than fine ATM.Building this (mabye) please check. This ...
kool man do you kno if they are all compatible with each other
kool man do you kno if they are all compatible with each other
I'll be honest when I say that I've never built a system from scratch, but just glancing over the parts, it seems everything is compatible. The PSU seems fine .. the CPU will be fine with the motherboard because it supports Core 2 Duo processors .. the video card of course will work ... the RAM will work I'm sure ... Harddrive should work w/ no probs ... the case looks badass.
I also see where you ask about the 8800 ULTRA or GTX. The truth is that both cards perform similarly, but the Ultra is the ''best of the best,'' so just get what money allows. You won't notice much of a difference from one card to the other. I'm not saying the Ultra doesn't perform better, because it does, but the difference isn't really big (usually 5-15 FPS from what I've seen).Sorry that I can't help all that much more. If anyone has built a system before and catches anything missing, please speak up!I really don't see anything that's missing, though. That's pretty much everything (except the monitor of course), and all the parts seem to be compatible with one another.
Well, all the parts are compatible, but:The 8800 Ultra is not worth the money - a regular 8800GTX is more than enough for you. Hell, I'd suspect that an 8800GTS would suffice. If you've got a fairly big monitor, a 640MB version would likely be a good buy. If you really want to spend the money though, the 8800GTX is an excellent card - but the 8800 Ultra isn't worth it.You won't need a sound card for your rig, as that motherboard does have onboard sound. It might be nice though, especially in a rig that has an 8800 Ultra. If you want to go with 4GB of RAM, ebuyer does appear to have a 2x2GB kit. I'd recommend going that route instead of 4x1GB.Also, I doubt you'll need to buy a NIC - most onboard NIC's can operate faster than your internet connection can provide, so buying a PCI one is a waste of a slot. For buying parts in the UK, also check Scan.co.uk and Overclockers.co.uk
thanks its all sounding good then :D

I personally am just going with the BFG 8800 GTS 640MB because I only game at 1280x1024 and nothing higher .. so even if I got a GTX it'd go to waste because unless you're going to be gaming with a really big monitor and really high resolutions, the difference between those cards really isn't magnificent nor even worth the money in my opinion. To me, the really expensive cards such as the GTX and Ultra are for getting the best out of large monitors without worrying about maxing out the settings at high resolutions. Otherwise, the GTS series will be fine. But with that said, if you REALLY WANT the GTX/Ultra, I say go for it - it's your choice, and you can't go wrong because the 8800 series kicks ass, flat out.
so are NET cards only for dial up because i have braodband and a wirelss router and belkin wireless thingy anyway so ?
go with the 8800gts 640mb instead and save some money http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/125328 the gtx might be better but its only like 10-20% better which isn't worth the extra £150
so are NET cards only for dial up because i have braodband and a wirelss router and belkin wireless thingy anyway so ?
Network cards are primarily for ethernet connections I'm pretty sure .. and motherboards that come with those types of cards installed are generally good enough without the requirement of buying a brand new one.
Actually man the monitor i have atm is 1024 x 1280 so with what you have said is there really a point in getting GTX. the thing is will games like crysis run on GTS and Oblivion does that run maxed out on GTS?
yeh kk thanks
wow i cannot believe how much my price tag has been brought down with getting GTS

It only starts to slow down at 1600x1200 onwards, and that's with lots of AA/AF applied.

Maybe not ultra-high, but it's up in the air right now.
would i not be better with XFX 8800GTS because my Mobo is XFX ? just wondering
would i not be better with XFX 8800GTS because my Mobo is XFX ? just wondering
To be honest, brand names are just that - brand names. It generally won't matter. I've heard eVGA and BFG recommended the most, especially EVGA because they are so close to Nvidia in terms of working together, and they also have some of the best prices around. PNY is also good.Generally, it doesn't matter. Getting the same brand GPU as your motherboard won't have any noticable benefits, I assure you.

kk lol and here is a link to the monitor i have atm.http://www.euroffice.co.uk/itm_show.asp?G20398=Samsung-SyncMaster-713BM-flat-panel-display-TFT-17%22%22-Silver%26HI=XM1376#head although i reckon i will upgrade as it is not HD and to get the most from GTS HD would be best bet i guess
