Help! Video card question ATI RADEON X80 ...
Thanks El_carl! I have a 100 dollar limit...so is that the best for the price? And does it work on any computer? Sorry I don't know much about hardware :\
El_Carl, an X800XL would kill a 7600GS. Thinkbefore you open your mouth. I'm sorry if I came of slightly rude, but if you are going to suggest anything. At least Suggest the 7600GT, even them, he would be better off with a X800XL even though it lacks Shader Model 3.0. I recommend an X1950pro http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102061Don't go any less.

Don't go any less.
The x800xl is better? Thats odd.
Erm I don't know, where could I check to see if I have a AGP or PCI-Express? I still have the box that came with my computer (Emachine)
The x800xl is a faster card by far when compared to the 7600gs... dont suggest stuff if u have no idea what your talking about... a cards speed isnt always based on its age
Not at all. X800XL is still has a 16 pixel pipelines, it may be clocked a bit slower than a 7600GT, but the extra 4 pipes make up for it. Architecturally the 7600GT is the better card, but the X800XL still holds more power. But both those cards are far too old now to recommend either of them. If this was a year ago, then yeah go for a 7600GT, but now? X1950 pro at least, plus he mentioned the new Conan game.

The X800 XL is not a bad card .. I'm sure it would run the Conan game on Medium settings or somewhere around there.
Definitely the one I suggested, the X1950pro has much more power than both of them and is based on a newer architecture. It would be a much more efficient solution for a game like Conan.
If you can afford a X1950 Pro, go for that one .. but if you're stuck on a low budget at about $100, the X800 XL would be fine I'd think. I could run BF2/BF2142 near High settings and C%26C 3 on Medium settings and FEAR with many things turned up to Medium/High .. I don't see how it couldn't run the Conan game well on Medium.
First find out what type of graphics slot u have (pcie or agp) then we can help u make a decision based off that... also, it would help if u knew information concerning your power supply (max wattage output, how many amps it has on its 12v rail) this can be found on the sticker on the side of the powersupply inside the case

I can't find it under system information
