Hi, I need a hand becouse my motherboard, an asrock ALiveSATA2-GLAN, had set in default the pci-e slot at 1x, and I don't know how to bring it at 16x...I have tried to search everyware in the bios, but without any result...there isn'r any voice about pci-e settings, apart from the frequency...anyone coud help me to resolv this problem?PS: sorry for my terrible english...I'm Italian and you'll know that here we're not the greater english speakers...problem with PCI-E slot...
Does the Motherboard definately have a PCI-E x16 slot? How do you know that it is running at x 1 speeds. ?problem with PCI-E slot...
of course it has a pci-e slot!! take a look at this...
Im not sure but i dont think you can change that as most board builders do that on cheap boards to lower their costs i think you will have to buy anothr board.
what Graphics card you got installed in there?
I hope to fix this problem..on the manual ther's clearly written PCI-EXPRESS 16X...I don't want to throw away this one...anyway, in there I've placed an x 1900xt 256, with a amd x2 4200+ and 2gb of ddr2 800...
Well i looked at a reveiw of your baord and it didnt say that it hhad a pci express 16x slot operating at 1x sppeds so it might be a defect.
really?!?!? but it's incredible..what is the sense in writting that it's a16x when it ins't?
Is this the motherboard that you have: HERE?

That shows that you have 1 PCI-E x16 slot, and the two little ones right next to it are x1. Are you sure that the x16 slot is running at x1?
yes, look at the cpu-z result above here...
I would look around on the board for some jumpers if you have looked in the BIOS already. If there is nothing, then looks like you are going to have to try and ask the people at the shop you got it from.
I remember that, douring the assemblage (that was also my first and last one...)I have set a jumper, but I cant remember what was it about..
