If your comptuer was built after 1995, it has at least one PCI slot. Are you sure you're not asking about PCI-e x16 slots? How to check if my comp has pci slots?
If it has PCI-Express , it probably has PCI-Express 1x which is a REALLY short slot (about 1/4 the size of PCI) and PCI Express 16x (for video cards) is generally right beside it and is around the same size as PCI slots or slightly longer. That's probably the easiest way to tell.
I was wondering how to check if my computer has PCI slots without having to open the case and look at it physically. If ou need to know, I'm running on Vista.
Not trying to be a smart-you-know-what, but did you check the manual? :D
Yea, i'm asking PCi express, but I don't know about the 16x thing.
The x16 thing means it's a PCI-e slot meant for graphics cards (usually) rather than a smaller device that uses PCI-e x1 or PCI-e x4. PCI is a much different interface, I was just pulling your leg a bit. Like ZBoater said, you would do well to check the manual - if that doesn't work, Google and download a program called CPU-Z. Run the program, and go to the Mainboard tab, where it will list what type of graphics port(s) you have available.
actually no, but if i did, how wuold I tell?
Well, most PC manuals have a section where they describe the specifications of the PC, including how many slots, and of what type. It should even have a diagram of your motherboard.
My cheap bundle doesn't have a manual with it it saying so.

If you dont have a manual your easiest way is to just pop open the case, it would only take a few minutes.
PCI Express slots look like these:

Ignore the colour, concentrate on the form factor. From top to bottom: x4, x16, x1, another x16 and a regular PCI slot.
