oooh... i see... better for overclocking ... :D thanx...
awsome set up dude, what monitor u using??
Great rig!Only thing I'd suggest is a new P35 motherboard, its more futureproof, (some allow for new DDR3 RAM).Also, the 2900XT is getting very similar benchmarks to the 8800GTX and is a lot cheaper.
profanityVP - I'm not using any fancy monitor only a 19'' 1024*1280... =( I'll get a nice widescreen when I get another $500 or so though :D but for now I guess I can take it as it is... you know? haha skinnypete91 - hm.... one of the main reasons I went for 8800GTX was cause of the extra 256MB ram... and meh... I kinda like nVidia better but yeah I know... thats an option.... but I guess I'll stick with the 8800GTX :D . About the motherboard though... well other than the DDR3 support the mobo I picked doesn't have anything less than the P35... it supports FSB 1333Mhz....I will consider one though.... I mean it doesn't hurt to have a more future proof board... hows this ? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128048 it's even cheaper than the board I already picked out... haha and it looks pretty solid if you ask me....
Yup thats the mobo I was thinking of! The only thing that you lose is the support for another graphics card, but if you dont need that, go for it!
well if ur plannin on gettin a 22 inch monitor or 24, then by all means get the gtx, but if ur running on a 19inch monitor it might be a better choice to get the gts versions,,,as when u do decide to upgrade to a better monitor, the gtx may not be the monster it is now and since ur gamin with a 19 inch, the gtx and gts will make no difference at all,,,
well I gtg right now for 2 hours or so... gt pick up someone at the airport... rofl... anyway ill be back soon... meanwhile im ganan think about all these... has anyone seen these benchmarks? http://www.bilgiustam.com/?p=125 how come the 2800XT scores higher in crysis than the 8800GTX? meh weird if you ask me anyway ill be back soon peace out guys thanx for all teh help!! keep'em coming !! love you all.
Yeah saw those before.. Dunno if theyre real or not!People were moaning about the 2900 being crap, especially since they'd waited for it for so long, but now, with better drivers being released for it, it is beginning to get better and better and is a great card for the price. I dont really know for sure which is the best card but they are both awesome, and imo the saving justifies the very slight (if any) performance decrease!
