Yesterday AVG 7.5 picked up a possible infection inone of my games both of which it said were possibly infected with win32 heur. I ran a virus scan and found that it had infected another game as well and had hidden itself in the system restore files. All of the infected files were moved to the virus vault.I was able to uninstall one of the games but the other (Command and Conquer 3) isn't responding at all :(. When I try to uninstall the game the program just freezes and I have to close it.Can anyone give me any information on how to uninstall the game? Any information on the win32 virus would be helpful as well :).win32 heur infection. help needed
I had a similar issue with Norton AV (ages ago).My best advice would be to call an IT technician and have them look at your PC.win32 heur infection. help needed
To make sure its not running in the backround, try going into safe mode and doing add or remove programs. If that fails try going to my computer program files or program files x86 if on 64 bit, go find the folder most likely electronic arts > command and conquer, delete the folder. Then try instlaling the game again.
google the virus to find the removal tool / process. disable it in task manager, then go to run, msconfig, check in services and startup and make sure its not there. run adaware and spybot to find it too to make sure its gone.
I deleted the files, uninstalled the game and ran a full system scan with Ad-Aware and AVG. Nothing came up on the scansso I think it's gone. After I reinstalled the game it worked fine too. Thanks everyone for the input :).
